Don’t get us wrong, Prague has a great public transportation system. Easy to use trams, metros, and buses. But sometimes everyone wishes they had their own Private Driver to chauffeur them. Personally we use Uber when we’re either in a hurry, it’s late at night, it’s a complicated destination – or we’re too dressed up to go on a tram.
If you’re already an Uber user – great news…your Uber app will still work in Prague. If you don’t have an international data plan, you’ll need to be near Wifi. The other great news is that Uber is really inexpensive here compared to cities in the US, where we were accustomed to using the app.
If you’re not already an Uber user, The Prague Visitor has teamed up with Uber to help. In fact, if you’re a new customer, your first ride on Uber in Prague is free, up to 400Kč!
Step 1: Download Uber
First, you’ll need to get Uber. To do that, simply download it from the Apple iTunes store or Google Play store for free. You can do this in your native country, or wait until you’re here in Prague. The free ride only applies in Prague.
Step 2: Claim your credit for your free first ride!
- Tap the menu button in the top left of your Uber app
- Tap the ‘PROMOTIONS’ option
- Enter your promo code – which is VISITOR
Step 3. Take your trip!
When you’re ready to take your first ride, open the app and tap the “Set Pickup Location” button once you’re standing were you want to be picked up. After confirming your selection, you will be given the option to pay with any credit or debit card or Uber credit that you saved on your account. (Select “Credit”).
